We made a blanket fort in the living room.
If I had to present a moment of my current life to my 8 year old self, this’d probably be it. 8 year old me would be proud of this.

So perhaps it doesn’t count as camping if you’re in your back garden, with a couple of duvets and a pile of pillows.
But me and the boyfriend have slept in the tent the past 2 nights, and it’s kind of awesome.
It rained last night, and rain on a tent has to be one of my favourite sounds. The boyfriend has had tinnitus for a little while now too, and he said listening to the rain helped. I’m not sure if that’s just because it’s like having white noise so he couldn’t hear the ringing, but I thought that was interesting.

Looks like the camping trip this weekend isn’t happening.

So me and the boyfriend (and possibly the housemate) have set the tent up in the garden, and are sleeping in it tonight! It’s new, we want to try it out asap ;)

Totally using duvets and pillows and stuff though. Going to make some snacks, grabs a pack of cards out head out there now. Excited!

She said she’d phone me at 10, so I have a phone interview in about 5 minutes.

I get so nervous talking on the phone and interviewing, hah. My pulse has been elevated since like, half 9. I didn’t sleep much last night.

Ok. Need to do some deep breathing or something.

I applied for a volunteer placement over summer (not paid, but it’s a camp so I get accommodation and food provided for me) and they just emailed me back!

I really want to do this, it’ll be such a good experience. And it’ll be good on my CV when I’m applying for paid work.

Anyway, I have an interview tomorrow. I’m so nervous - it’s a phone interview, which is very nice of them because it saves me travelling, but I get so anxious talking on the phone!

Eep. If anyone has phone interview/nerves calming tips, I would love to hear them! :)

I think I’ve done someting to my wrist. It only hurts if I twist it though. As in, I can do yoga and inversions (handstands, down dogs, etc) with no pain but I can’t take the lid off a jar or open a door without it hurting really badly.

It feels kinda like when I had tendonitis last year, after I went backpacking. Same wrist, but that was any pressure, and this is only when it’s twisting.

But that is me self-diagnosing. I’ll go see a doctor after bank holidays.

I hate asking people to open jars for me though ;)

Such a lovely day outside! I’ve eaten breakfast and lunch in the sunshine, but otherwise I’m stuck indoors studying. Oh well - last exam is tomorrow morning, so hopefully it’ll be sunny tomorrow too!

Lunch was mixed veggies and cous cous, with a bit of hummus (because it needed using up) and sesame seeds.

Exam Done!

I think it went OK.

Just one more left :D

My housemate forgot the pay the internet bill, so we’ve been without it since Tuesday. Since then:

  • The house is clean and tidy (this never happens - and it’s not a “we’ll quickly wipe the surfaces down and wash some dishes” deal, it’s more of a “ok, break out the hazmat suits, we’re going in”)
  • I have finished an assignment not only early, but probably to a better standard than usual.
  • I have written an assignment using more books than internet sources.
  • I have actually read large portions of said books, not just relevant paragraphs using the index.
  • I’ve had enough sleep.
  • We’ve been to the gym every day.
  • I’ve done a lot of yoga.
  • I’ve done some reading for my own entertainment, not for studying.
  • Baked goods. Lots of baked goods.

Uh. I think I may need to do more of this cutting down on internet usage thing…

Today has been a long stressy day. I handed in an assignment, and the boyfriend handed in his dissertation - he was up all night drinking energy drinks, so he’s both de-stressing and ill now. I’m looking after him ;)

I’ve missed the past couple of challenges Riia has posted for various reasons - but meditation is definitely something I can not only do, but actually really kinda need today!

So I’m shutting down the computer, maybe doing some light yoga … but maybe just skipping straight to the breathing and relaxation :) Hopefully it’ll clear my mind before bed!
